1. Rights and Responsibilities of the Owner

1.1.  

The dog must be responsive to recall and understand basic commands.

 

1.2.
The dog must be familiar with basic obedience and be able to stay home alone for a few hours, as pick-up and drop-off times may vary.

1.3. 

Duty to provide Information to Smiling Dogs.
The owner must provide truthful information regarding the dog's characteristics and health condition. Otherwise, any liability is declined.

1.4.
The dog owner assures that their dog is healthy and free from contagious diseases and should be dewormed at least twice a year.

If the dog is sick or exhibits behavioral abnormalities, the owner is obliged to inform Smiling Dogs in advance. This also applies in the case of a female dog in heat.

 

1.5.
The dog must be registered with Amicus (Dog Chip).

 

1.6.
The dog must have liability insurance by the owner.

 

1.6.1.
The dog owner is liable for any damage their dog causes to objects, people, and other dogs/animals. In case of injury to their own dog due to the dog’s own fault, the owner must bear the incurred costs. If an allergy, illness, or other limitations are concealed or unknown, the dog owner remains liable. Smiling Dogs declines all liability.

2. Rights and Responsibilites of Smiling Dogs

2.1.

A trial day is mandatory before a dog is accepted.

 

2.2.
Smiling Dogs will care for your dog properly and appropriately. To facilitate pick-up and drop-off, we require access to your home or office so we can collect and return your dog as per our scheduled route, as times may vary.

 

2.3.
Smiling Dogs will inform all dog owners in the event of major incidents. In case of accidents or diagnosed illnesses, the dog owner will be immediately notified by the dog sitter, and further steps will be discussed. If the dog owner is unreachable, the dog sitter will take the dog to a veterinarian without delay. All resulting costs are fully borne by the dog owner.

2.4.
Smiling Dogs has Business Liability insurance for dog care.

2.5.
Smiling Dogs holds a permit for commercial pet care issued by the Veterinary Office of the Canton of Zurich, as well as the necessary specialized, non-occupational training for animal care staff in shelters/care services (FBA) according to Article 102, Paragraph 2 of the Animal Protection Ordinance (TschV) (species: dogs).

3. Cancellations & Termination

​

3.1.

Dog care services that are not canceled in time (at least 24 hours before the start of daycare) will be charged in full.

 

3.2.
For termination, including individual regular fixed days, a notice period of one month (4 weeks) applies. In case of early withdrawal, the full monthly fee (4 weeks) will be due.

Fees for dog care for which no cancellation has been received in time (24h before beginning of the care), will be charged normally.

4. General Provisions

 

4.1.
Smiling Dogs reserves the right to refuse the admittance of a dog, for example, due to aggressive or unsociable behavior.

 

4.2.
GPS trackers are generally not allowed unless there is a serious issue that justifies their use. If a tracker is used, at least one private coaching session per week with Smiling Dogs is required to work on and resolve the identified issues in a timely manner.

 

4.3.
The dog owner has read and accepted the general terms and conditions of Smiling Dogs and agrees with the care process.

 

4.4.
For one-time daycare services, payment must be made in cash on the same day.

For regular daycare services, the monthly invoice can be paid by bank transfer or in cash at the end of the respective month.
